Firefox 5.0 Beta Released

Mozilla has released a new version of Firefox which is particularly in Beta mode for the public to test. This version is Firefox 5.0 Beta. After about a few months back when Firefox 4 was released, this time we have a new Mozilla browser to play about. There is also an upcoming project from Mozilla known as Firefox Aurora, which is still not released into beta though that is how it is.

With that, TechieDan has got his hands on this new Firefox 5.0 Beta and is dabbling with it. As part of the community of Firefox and to assist in creating a proper browser for the users around the world, TechieDan would be helping in searching for bugs, defects to be reported back to the Mozilla team.

As stated on their website here are the following changes for Mozilla Firefox 5.0 Beta:

Added support for CSS animations
Added support for switching Firefox development channels
The Do-Not-Track header preference has been moved to increase discoverability
Improved canvas, JavaScript, memory, and networking performance
Improved standards support for HTML5, XHR, MathML, SMIL, and canvas
Improved spell checking for some locales
Improved desktop environment integration for Linux users

As it is still in the Beta mode, expect more enhancements to come forward in the following 3 months.
