[...]]]> Amazing news, after many days or many months with Firefox 3.5 and with new patches released periodically, Mozilla has brought us FIREFOX 3.6 which is said to be loading websites 20% faster, and much more performance friendly with javascript.

After clicking Help > Check for Updates, I am greeted with this screen.

Then finally update is completed. Firefox requested to restart.  Restart was done to welcome the splash screen of Firefox 3.6.

Here are the few new notable updates for the Firefox 3.6

1. Available in more than 70 languages.
   
2. Support for a new type of theme called Personas, which allow users to change Firefox’s appearance with a single click.
3. Protection from out-of-date plugins to keep users safer as they browse.
4. Open, native video can now be displayed full screen and supports poster frames.
5. Improved JavaScript performance, overall browser responsiveness, and startup time.
6. The ability for web developers to indicate that scripts should run asynchronously to speed up page load times.
7. Continued support for downloadable web fonts using the new WOFF font format.
8. Support for new CSS attributes such as gradients, background sizing, and pointer events.
9. Support for new DOM and HTML5 specifications including the Drag & Drop API and the File API, which allow for more interactive web pages.
10. Changes to how third-party software can integrate with Firefox in order to prevent crashes.

After using it for the past few hours, TechieDan has no complaints. Seemingly it does what it claimed to do. One cool feature is now one can personalize their Firefox using the Persona function. Of course if you don’t have Firefox, you can get it here.

Here is what [...]]]> After monitoring FIFA Online 2 for a few days, it looks like on 1st December 2009 there was a major update to the whole client for the game. Here’s the manual patch for those wanting to install this new client.

Streamyx users in Malaysia would fret by waiting for it to finish since it tries to update the whole program. Be wary though, if the line disconnects while the patch is ongoing, you’ll have to install the patch again and redo the whole thing again.

It wasn’t mentioned as to what was integrated in the new December 1st 2009 patch but my guess would be new features that needs to be explored. So far here are the new features which could be seen.

There’s now a new menu which is the HALL OF GLORY. This is one new feature which enables one to gain points and thus used it to buy certain items. Points are gained by joining world tours and also club matches.

As seen above, Current Glory Points (GP) obtained is now 35. One needs to get at least 2000GP to purchase a speed enhance knee tape. So is more like, the more you play, you get points to redeem things. As this is a new feature, expect more items to be included in the coming future.

Aside from this, the game play has also been added with some additional features.

Now you can finally see an additional information when your players or the opponent’s player scores a goal. You can practically checked who was the one who assisted the goalscorer.
