It Pays To Be a Social Networker

Social Networking is now one of a kind in the current thing we are all in. Being a blogger of TechieDan for this technical website, social networking is important in order to generate visits, income and also to reach out to other bloggers that share the same sentiment. When I say it pays to be a social networker, I did not mean that you will get paid to be social networking.

Nowadays social networking will make your business or your webpage flourish. This is what we call business social networking. Unlike websites that generates income and traffic due to articles, social networking is now blooming. It is blooming that webmasters take note of this and start to integrate social networks into their webpages.

If you ever heard of Facebook and Twitter, or for some of you, Plurk, I am sure you are not new to the social networking era. People on the go uses their smartphones, iPhones and other mobile phone units to access social networking via applications. Take for instance, more people will follow you if your twitter handle was like the one below.

TweetDeck Twitter Desktop Application

Most of you have heard of Twitter. One of the finest all in application to use with twitter is TWEETDECK. TweetDeck is an application where one can link their twitter profile with it. Not only that, Facebook, Foursquare, MySpace all can be link with TweetDeck in order for one to get in touch with the cyber world.

TechieDan had this installed on his machine for awhile and finally got to use it as previously access to Twitter was blocked. Updating TweetDeck is easy and remember to have Adobe AIR installed to get the updates.

It only takes awhile to update. Good to know that TweetDeck supports multiple accounts. How to add these accounts?

Go to TweetDeck Settings and under Accounts > Add New Account. There will be options to add what type of account ranging from Facebook, another Twitter account or others like LinkedIn, MySpace and Foursquare.

Advantages of Using TweetDeck

Another superb function for TweetDeck is the option to schedule your tweets before posting them up. Ever wondered how some people can tweet the whole time at certain time and period, that’s where Tweet scheduler is for.

Now you can just be like someone who would want to tell out something at a certain time period or one can annoy your followers with multiple instances of the same messages which could caused one to unfollow (highly recommended not to annoy your followers)

Just get it from TweetDeck official website. TweetDeck not only comes in as a Desktop Application, they also have it for the iPhone and iPad variety. Why not get this wonderful app then?

Twitter Overloaded

On Wednesday December 9th 2009, at about 3pm (GMT +08:00) Malaysian Time, Twitter is under maintenance and there’s no chance to twit. Looks like there could be more changes to the twitting world or some upgrades or even some downtime to maximised the speed and capability of twitter. The screen shows that Twitter is over capacity.

Here’s the screenshot though of the current twitter.

Nevertheless twitter did produce an enlightening picture to brighten every twitters’ day on their homepage. A cute white whale carried by the tweeting birds of twitter.

TwitterFox is now Echofon

For users of twitter, there are many tools out there to properly manage your twits. Well, TechieDan uses Twitterfox and splendidly, it looks like something happened within these few days. It looks like twitterfox is now known as Echofon.

It seems it also comes with a new improved interface. No more slow loading. Looks kinda futuristic. For those who are lost in the twitter world, Echofon is an additional plugin for Firefox, where one can just twit while browsing instead of logging into the twitter.com website.

Friends (Things you and your friends posted)
Mentions (Things your friends and others posted to you with the @ symbol)
Messages (Posts that are written with the ‘d’ annotation to send private messages)

Resizable TwitterFox

Twitter is the IN thing these days. Back then when there was plurk, now the hype is all about Twitter. Well, so to say that using my Firefox and having plugins to support twitter is what helps me to keep up to date to the people I am following.

Have been using TwitterFox as my personal twitter update with my FireFox 3, and it looks like that there is an upgrade to this remarkable tool. The interface has changed.

Well, it looks pretty normal on this, but wait till you see the next screenshot.

Yes, TwitterFox is now resizable and you can actually drag it all the way to envelop the whole screen (though the editor must be wondering why would one do that though). A very good improvement to my eyes as now one can read tweets in one single line.

Well, speaking of twitter, some amazing new features, would like to see is the ability to change more of it’s skin color. Sort of a minor update, but it sure will be good to merge the colors of it with the dashboard. So far there’s black color, wonder when all the other colors would be available.
