In terms of your thumb drive, previously, it cost a freaking RM140 for a 126MB thumb drive 3.5 years ago. Fast forward to our timezone now, one can get a 4Gb thumbdrive for a cost of RM40. Times have changed, technology has evolved.

Storage space is now not only comes in compact mode, it’s big and with more chips invented, there is more to come with the 16Gb already out in the market. Those days we don’t hear of Hard Disks at 1TB(TerraByte) for sale but now even a 500Gb is for sale for only RM300++ roughly about USD80-90.

With further more expectations of the human population now, technology has evolved. It looks like more technical needs are needed these days.

Do you tidy your codes when you’re coding, or do you just jumble them up so that only you can understand? Well, some people have their own thoughts about this, but if you are the only one writing the program and it’s for personal use, then yes, you can go ahead and jumble the codes all you want.

When I meant tidy your codes, one should also learn how to apply comments so that if ever the programmer were to refer to it again, there’s no need to see which part goes which part.

Well, if all else fails and you still can’t understand your own codes, then I think it must have been because you don’t have enough sleep

I’ve been paged by relatives and even friends as to help them clean their viruses and advertisements that pop up while they’re surfing the internet. Some even have problem deleting a certain file which actually seem malicious. Why do all these things happen? Well, they happen so that people like me can earn money through it?? Hahaha.. not really.

I’m going to give some pointers as to what one should do!

Do not simply click links that may deem unnecessary which have tag lines like “I love my body, come take a look” – MSN virus

For doing transaction online, make sure that connection is from a secured connection. Look for the url with https://

Never click redirection links from an email to the login page of transaction site. They might be phsing the current site to get your information.

Always Always install an antivirus, if you need a free one get either AVG or Avast or the many other choices out there.

If you have an antivirus, please update your virus definition file so it keeps up to date to the latest attack and viruses.

Use Firefox if you need to for better security. Well, if you want to avoid the target of many hackers who tried to find a loophole in Microsoft Products, ie : Internet Explorer.

Ok then, maybe this points might not be enough, but at least it’ll help in a certain way. So whatever, think wisely.

If you’re in Malaysia, I think most of you have known that there was one time when the governing bodies thought of scrutinizing the bloggers and keeping track of what they do in the Internet. Well, those days when Jeff Ooi appeared in court due to so called allegations. For that reason, bloggers went united and twas the blogging industry malaysia bloomed further due to the publicity that occasion created.

Well, after the elections, it seems that a few things have changed with more freedom around. Even the current information minister even talk about bloggers and now listen to bloggers comments and views. I must say this is a very sudden change. Firstly, credit to the recent elections, this sudden change are what caused this. Well, with no more 2/3 majority, it’s time the public speak their hearts out.

So if you’re a blogger, don’t be afraid. But also don’t go overboard.

This blog might be technical, but it’s good to get to know what makes me technically incline to post about technical stuffs here. One thing though, no matter what people say or do, technology is never enough. You can actually see in this world that technology is rapidly evolving. Well, they even have robots that are so going to emulate humans.

My opinion is that this will benefit mainly in terms of less work for human error and more to machinery expertise to help to do the job. The consequences though is that we are going to be lazy every moment of our life. No wonder now we have cases of younger children getting obese at a super super young age. All because they just sit in front of the pc and do nothing else but play games or rather those that play with console games most of the time.

I admit I am a tech enthusiast but I do order my life to be balanced between outdoor sports and tech life. Well, I wouldn’t want to miss the chance to enjoy outdoor life while we all can, don’t we?

Programmers, they code for their life, their interest, some just do it for the sake of money. But what makes a programmer a real programmer?

In my working life as a programmer, I have this thing for looking into new technologies and I envy those who can code by themselves. But… one thing I learnt about working in a company is that, if you can code with the new technologies, but not documenting and writing your code well, it’ll make other people (your colleagues) mindfully cursing you for not following the standard. Writing perfect codes are great, but writing understandable codes are what makes a programmer a decent and wise programmer.

Some might be hasty in writing codes that they themselves understand. Well, then that is not a very wise person if he/she’s in a company working in a team. Besides, conformity to a certain standard has made a programmer what a programmer should be.

I quote from what I heard,
“If you have the talent, use it wisely.”

Also this quote.
“A talented programmer writes super high-end codes, but a wise programmer writes understandable codes!”

Sad but true, in the country I live in, people have this jurisdiction that they should never reveal their secret. That’s why open source is not famous here. Not until Microsoft comes in having household owners to license their MS Windows, then people will start looking toward open source.

So conclusion, do you think a programmer is just a programmer who cares about how well he codes or rather how readable his codes are??
