Now after what seems to be a rumored model of Nikon, Nikon finally after few days of rumors, it’s now going to be out.

The Nikon D5000 is out now and what a new revelation to entry level DSLR users and those venturing into new DSLR models. It boast of HD capable video recording quality and most importantly, a different major appearance compared to the other Nikon sets is the swivel mode of the live preview.

Some specifications worth noted
Focal Point : 11 focus points (1 cross-type sensors)
Timer : 2, 5, 10, and 20 s
LCD : 2.7 ” TFT LCD
Bracketing
Uses the Multi CAM 1000 AF module, as with D90
4FPS continuous
viewfinder grid
720p/24

Click HERE to read more about the specifications

Author’s note

To me, I find it disturbing. It seems entry level deserved a boost but now it seems like it’s trying to be more like an all into one gadget. Now DSLR is not about taking photos but having more and more video functions like the swivel mode.

Nevertheless it still serve it’s purpose as a starting point for new users to DSLR and beginners alike. Thumbs up for Nikon and have your heads up for their rumored Nikon D400 upcoming towards the end of the year.

Nikon has decided to surprise Nikon DSLR Users once again. What now?? Ever since the introduction of the new G lens of the f/1.4G 50mm with autofocus build into it (the price though was the main factor that people still stick to their old f/1.4D), it seems that those with the 35mm f/1.8D is going to be surprise with this new inclusion.

After what seemed to be rumors has now been proven true with Nikonians.org already giving us a glimpse of this amazing new lens. This new lens is the AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G. Now D40, D40x and D60 users would be glad this lens would be coming onto shores after March 2009.

Estimated price is lesser than USD200 which means a better bargain. Now what more can one ask for, for a new portrait lens for the DX format cameras of Nikon.

Though now I wished I didn’t get my 50mm f/1.4D and instead and waited for this 35mm f/1.8G.

Here are the excerpts of the mentioned lens.

Weighing in at a mere 200 g (7 oz) the AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G is an 8 element lens offering a fast maximum f/1.8 aperture, and the suggested retail is below $200 USD.

Edit : Realised an error in my post, it’s a DX format lens instead of a FX format lens.

When the news about D700 started to surface, it was at first thought of as a fake or photoshopped photo. Nikon finally announced it on their web with the Nikon D700 out, and this time, it’s going to be a new FX Semi Pro DSLR out there for Nikonians to select from. This D700 can replace the so called D200 and D300 DSLR specs, though only the cost would be a bit pricey with the cost range about $3000++ (USD).

A few advantage though of getting this camera compared to the ones of D300 and D200 respectively the D700 features an FX-format first introduced with the Nikon D3. In a funny thing, it combines both what they called a merge between D300 and partly D3 respectively.

A quote from www.nikon.com

The D700 has everything it takes to satisfy a broad
spectrum of photographic needs.The 12.1-megapixel FX-format
CMOS sensor with a sensing area of 36.0 x 23.9 mm; a sensitivity
range of ISO 200 to 6400; continuous shooting at up to 5
frames per second (and up to 8 fps with the optional Multi-Power
Battery Pack MB-D10; Nikon's exclusive 51-point AF system; Scene
Recognition System for optimum autofocus, auto exposure and auto
white balance detection – these are but a few of the advanced
capabilities of the extraordinary new D700.

Also be alert for the new SB-900 Flash Gun from Nikon.
