Most of us have Facebook and Twitter accounts which are social medias to keep ourselves in touch with the online community. At times we rely on these tools that without them, we don’t seem to catch up with anything. Though Google now brings you Google Buzz, somewhat the counterpart of both Twitter and Facebook.

Google Buzz? Where can I find it? As a matter of fact, those with gmail accounts is already a Google Buzz user. Google integrated Buzz together with GMail.

By default, contacts that you have in GMail with their own respective gmail accounts would automatically follow them. As of now, many speculations are on the Internet as to what is Google Buzz is all about! Some say they rival Twitter, some say they rival Facebook, while others say they combined both Facebook and Twitter into one convenient application.

As of date of launch, Google Buzz has generated a few comments from the social internet circle. Let’s see how Google Buzz has it in a few days time.

After years of technical appraisal and tutorials, TechieDan.com has now reached another whole new level with the current Page Rank going up to 2. It’s been 2 hard years and finally today it’s a day to celebrate.

Page Rank is by Google and though it might not actually affect your SEO, it’s also a good way to gauge your website unless of course if your blog/website was previously banned by Google, or they just want to ‘unrank’ you.

Cut the long story short, there will be more things upcoming. As for now, it’s just a celebration post. It might be small for some of you, but it sure is a big thing for TechieDan for now.

Breaking News

TechieDan has finally made it past the Page Rank 0. A few months back, TechieDan.com was hit by the Google Ranking from a Page Rank of 2 to 1 then to 0. Realising the fact that due to insufficient updates these days, a few blog posts was released and TechieDan has now reached it’s Page Rank 1.

In a way though, Page Rank is still an amusing and complicated thing to comprehend. Believing that other than building links, the calculation would have been a lot more complex. Though suspicion of Google calculating page rank of a site seems a bit undefined. For example, if one owns a blogspot and that blog has not been updated for a very long time, (for instance one of my blogspot blogs), it still maintain it’s PR3 rank.

Some tools which TechieDan use to determine it’s Page Rank is from PrChecker, a simple direct PR display tool and PrCheckingTool, one that can determined whether there was any response to a banned PR ranking. TechieDan personally likes the 2nd tool, as it’s able to determine whether any one of my sites got banned for Page Ranking.

Well, anyway since it’s the mark of a new PR1 rank here, what about the rest of the people out there? Is this new update of PR something new to discuss.

Are you a blogger that wants to deliver news to your readers? How can you do that? Can your user subscribe to your blog and get the latest blog post? Yes, if you’re using WordPress, one can subscribe to you using the RSS feeds located on your blog.

Now the question though, is how to keep track on the amount of readers on your blog? One possible way is by using FeedBurner. But then something changed!!!!

Google acquired Feedburner a few months back, and while I was using Feedburner, the feeds don’t seem to be updated. Using Google Reader to read my feeds, I detect that my feed wasn’t updated and decided to have a check on Feedburner. It looks like Google has migrated the feed reading of Feedburner to another domain name.

Now instead of www.feedburner.com, one should access to the new feeds using feedburner.google.com. But of course if you’re an exisiting user of feedburner, log in first to feedburner.com to move your feeds to the new feeds in feedburner.google.com so that you can get your new feed link.

If you’re still clueless on what are feeds and stuffs, here’s where one can get started. Start by trying to click on the Subscribe to RSS logo on the top right or on this FEED LINK itself. You’ll learn more.

Or Subscribe By Clicking This Giant RSS Icon

In that way, after choosing your reader, you can now catch the latest news from your favorite blog.

Google just did another update and guess what? TechieDan.com dropped from PR 1 to PR 0? Previously it was PR 2 to PR 1, then now from PR 1 to PR 0. Is there something wrong with Google Page Ranking system. I wonder if they are really doing a proper job for the rankings.

I still remembered the time when TechieDan.com first reached Page Rank 1 and it was a good feeling.

Well, not to say the least I think Page Ranking has done a great problem to all the webmasters out there. To get a Page Rank 0 for a dotcom is absurd at times. But what’s worse is if you have a blogspot account and if you didn’t update it for like few months, it still maintain it’s high page rank.

Biasness? Or rather google just want you to use their own products. I can’t believe it.

ps : It’s proven also with my page rank at my blogspot still maintaining it’s high PR even after days of not updating it at all. Wonder why?

Updated :

If your page used to have PageRank but not anymore it means either:

* banned by Google (hand penalty is made by Google employee)
* your site was down when Googlebot last crawled your site
* your page is considered duplicate content by Google

Finally after months of waiting, TechieDan is now PR1 and hopefully will go up the page ranking. But what is a Page Rank?

Defining Page Rank, it’s just an earmarked from Google to help determined the hits and relevancy of your blog or site. A plus point is having a backlink to your site. For those that had their blog penalized to become Page Rank 0, you can do the following though.

Anyway, if my computer could talk, I wonder what it will say.

Just when you thought Firefox and Internet Explorer was the dominating figure with Safari, Opera in the background, another strong powerhorse of the Internet market is making their own browser. What more but Google who developer their own browser named the Google Chrome.

Well, in case you didn’t know, it’s now available for DOWNLOAD HERE. Well, so far response from certain users has said that Google Chrome is fast and browses the web quite efficiently. Only though, it still doesn’t support other small applications on the web like plurk and for certain websites, it displays haywirely.

After testing and trying out this browser, techieDan has found out that it’s not a bad browser to use, with the memory consumption lesser than usual. Can even import your bookmarks and history from Firefox which should come in handy to those that wants to shift over to Chrome.

Well, so be it, being new in this market but we shall never underestimate the power of Google and their developments. Looks like it’s time to carry on moving forward and look forward to more developments.

I’ve heard of the numerous rumors. Yes, people who has been doing paid postings and excessively doing it has been slapped with the google PR. They have been slapped wth a PR0 thus reducing their chances to do paid postings. Well, how does one get back their Page Rank after that?

Some bloggers even go to the extend that they wanted to abandon their website all due to this. So now they wanted to get back their Page Rank. How do they do it? TechieDan will now show you the steps and information.

If you’re seriously considering to get back you Page Rank, do the following.

If you’re doing paid posting, clean up your links once again and add the rel=”nofollow” tag.

Avoid selling links on your site, or if you have to, make it minimal

Login to Google.com and request for consideration once again.

While requesting for consideration, write a reason as to why you’re requesting consideration and what steps you did. Hope this helps. If there are any other tips, don’t mind posting it here!
