Nikon has decided to surprise Nikon DSLR Users once again. What now?? Ever since the introduction of the new G lens of the f/1.4G 50mm with autofocus build into it (the price though was the main factor that people still stick to their old f/1.4D), it seems that those with the 35mm f/1.8D is going to be surprise with this new inclusion.

After what seemed to be rumors has now been proven true with Nikonians.org already giving us a glimpse of this amazing new lens. This new lens is the AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G. Now D40, D40x and D60 users would be glad this lens would be coming onto shores after March 2009.

Estimated price is lesser than USD200 which means a better bargain. Now what more can one ask for, for a new portrait lens for the DX format cameras of Nikon.

Though now I wished I didn’t get my 50mm f/1.4D and instead and waited for this 35mm f/1.8G.

Here are the excerpts of the mentioned lens.

Weighing in at a mere 200 g (7 oz) the AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G is an 8 element lens offering a fast maximum f/1.8 aperture, and the suggested retail is below $200 USD.

Edit : Realised an error in my post, it’s a DX format lens instead of a FX format lens.

When the news about D700 started to surface, it was at first thought of as a fake or photoshopped photo. Nikon finally announced it on their web with the Nikon D700 out, and this time, it’s going to be a new FX Semi Pro DSLR out there for Nikonians to select from. This D700 can replace the so called D200 and D300 DSLR specs, though only the cost would be a bit pricey with the cost range about $3000++ (USD).

A few advantage though of getting this camera compared to the ones of D300 and D200 respectively the D700 features an FX-format first introduced with the Nikon D3. In a funny thing, it combines both what they called a merge between D300 and partly D3 respectively.

A quote from www.nikon.com

The D700 has everything it takes to satisfy a broad
spectrum of photographic needs.The 12.1-megapixel FX-format
CMOS sensor with a sensing area of 36.0 x 23.9 mm; a sensitivity
range of ISO 200 to 6400; continuous shooting at up to 5
frames per second (and up to 8 fps with the optional Multi-Power
Battery Pack MB-D10; Nikon's exclusive 51-point AF system; Scene
Recognition System for optimum autofocus, auto exposure and auto
white balance detection – these are but a few of the advanced
capabilities of the extraordinary new D700.

Also be alert for the new SB-900 Flash Gun from Nikon.
