What is nofollow Tag
Written by techieDan on June 26, 2008 – 12:07 pmWell, sometimes you see certain people talking all about making their links no follow. Well, what do they mean by that? First you got to understand, a nofollow tag is so that Google PR doesn’t count that as a proper backlink. Just a normal link. Well, some bloggers do in fact remove the nofollow tag from their comments so that other bloggers have backlinks too.
Well, after talking about it, how about adding this nofollow tag.
rel=nofollow
That’s it, if you’re still unsure, here is a sample nofollow tag in a URL
<a href=”http://techiedan.com” rel=”nofollow”>TechieDan</a>
There are certain reasons why people put the nofollow tag. An example would be writing paid postings. Well, though advertisers wouldn’t like you if you do that. So have fun thinking what you should put and what you should not.

Simple Steps To Protect Your PC
Written by techieDan on May 7, 2008 – 2:09 amI’ve been paged by relatives and even friends as to help them clean their viruses and advertisements that pop up while they’re surfing the internet. Some even have problem deleting a certain file which actually seem malicious. Why do all these things happen? Well, they happen so that people like me can earn money through it?? Hahaha.. not really.
I’m going to give some pointers as to what one should do!
- Do not simply click links that may deem unnecessary which have tag lines like “I love my body, come take a look” - MSN virus
- For doing transaction online, make sure that connection is from a secured connection. Look for the url with https://
- Never click redirection links from an email to the login page of transaction site. They might be phsing the current site to get your information.
- Always Always install an antivirus, if you need a free one get either AVG or Avast or the many other choices out there.
- If you have an antivirus, please update your virus definition file so it keeps up to date to the latest attack and viruses.
- Use Firefox if you need to for better security. Well, if you want to avoid the target of many hackers who tried to find a loophole in Microsoft Products, ie : Internet Explorer.
Ok then, maybe this points might not be enough, but at least it’ll help in a certain way. So whatever, think wisely.

Wise Programmer
Written by techieDan on February 19, 2008 – 12:33 amProgrammers, they code for their life, their interest, some just do it for the sake of money. But what makes a programmer a real programmer?
In my working life as a programmer, I have this thing for looking into new technologies and I envy those who can code by themselves. But… one thing I learnt about working in a company is that, if you can code with the new technologies, but not documenting and writing your code well, it’ll make other people (your colleagues) mindfully cursing you for not following the standard. Writing perfect codes are great, but writing understandable codes are what makes a programmer a decent and wise programmer.
Some might be hasty in writing codes that they themselves understand. Well, then that is not a very wise person if he/she’s in a company working in a team. Besides, conformity to a certain standard has made a programmer what a programmer should be.
I quote from what I heard,
“If you have the talent, use it wisely.”
Also this quote.
“A talented programmer writes super high-end codes, but a wise programmer writes understandable codes!”
Sad but true, in the country I live in, people have this jurisdiction that they should never reveal their secret. That’s why open source is not famous here. Not until Microsoft comes in having household owners to license their MS Windows, then people will start looking toward open source.
So conclusion, do you think a programmer is just a programmer who cares about how well he codes or rather how readable his codes are??
