Very good tip about setting up perma-links. It is certainly good to use permalinks and the settings in the default wordpress are decent, but you do need to adjust them a little bit. I for one don't like all the trailing slashes and usually takes those out. Engines don't like so many and will not read content past 3 or 4 deep. In addition, I use a plug-in to automatically send people to the right perma-link based on the id of the post. This is good because no matter how people come into the site they will end up on the right page and will parse correctly. The plugin is called 'permanently moved' I belive and can be found in the wordpress directory.
