Online MMORPG, Ragnarok Online has made it through a very long time through all the genres of MMORPG (Massive MultiPlayer Online Role Playing Game) which claimed to be the top first few games for the online community. This game has really brought an impact, with more and more games following it’s stride and flowing into online gamers life.

One of the only few online games to make it into international acclamation, there was a year that the online Ragnarok Online Player Kill event organized during the year 2003. The winner for that event was China and the runner ups Malaysia.

The Game Itself
Running on a 2D background with 3D characters, this game with it’s anime style feel, makes one wonders if it was started in Japan. Well, unfortunately, the one who started it all was someone from Korea. Originally the game was based on a manga from Lee Myung Jin. With characters like Acolyte, Mage, Swordsman, Merchant, Thief and Archer, it’s not a surprise with the many distinct classes, it’ll attract many online game players. What with second classes like Priest, Wizards, Knight, Blacksmith, Assasin and Hunter on it first prelaunched second job classes, it was way way interesting. Now with Guild Wars, players can group together to take over castles for creating godly weapons and to interact with a group.

On the functional note, utilizing both keyboard and mouse (touchpad to some un-mouse players), the game boast of different unique set of skills. With directions controlled by the mouse, this game works well on any ADSL connection, well, those were the days where there were 56k modems and I did had my first Ragnarok Online gaming experience on a 56k modem.

My Personal Experience
Seemingly interesting, I need to try it in order to know how this game works. Well, my first ever test on this game went back to around year 2002 when it first came to my country in it’s beta stage. In it’s beta stage, the game boast a staggering wonder with it’s interaction amongst players with some of them vulgar, polite and funny. Well, it’s a big online world out there.

Part of what makes Ragnarok Online interesting is that they market their product better targeting players on the local market seperately as in if you’re in China go get the China version in Chinese, International would be more of players from States.

My first ever character was an Acolyte, and being an all time support player through out my playing and younger days, I can say I really do love this character. With skills like Blessing, Heal, Increase Agility, this character brings out the best in other characters. It’s also evil in terms you can also heal your antagonist monsters thus killing them, well, sometimes we got to be evil.

Some Facts
All in all, Ragnarok Online has gone a long way, when it first started charging for the game. If you really wanted a 3D character on a 2D map and template, here’s the perfect game as it doesn’t require very high requirements. All one need are
